Room 202 is a personal game project of mine that is currently in production.

This game is a thrilling 3D visual novel-like first person RPG. Room 202 is about a woman named Emily who checks into a motel awaiting her friend to pick her up all the while mysterious happenings are occurring in the building - misplaced belongings, strange encounters, and shadow like creatures appearing in her room! Emily is already trying to escape preexisting horrors, why did she have to choose the one place that would add to her fears?

This small, indie production is majority self-made! I wrote the story and am creating all the assets. I work in Maya to create all the models and texture them in Substance Painter. The game engine I am using to build this is Unreal Engine 5. Lighting, environment, and level design are also done by me. I also have asked friends for help; Ximena Maria created the wall materials and floor, and Jordan Chiang created the tree particle assets for the parking lot. All pictures shown are of the scenes currently in engine and in progress.

All assets being low poly are a stylistic choice. I love the aesthetics of 90's games with low poly models, a grainy shader, saturated post processing, so that is what I plan to aim for in the future once all the 3D assets are made. Currently, there are no shaders to achieve that visual affect. For the grunge assets, I am utilizing Quixel Megascans.

More coming soon! In the meantime, please see other games I have worked on.
